Rioja

Rioja is Spain’s most prestigious wine region, stretching along the Ebro River in north-central Spain. It spans three sub-zones—Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Oriental—each with distinct climates and soils. Tempranillo is the flagship grape, often blended with Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo, producing reds with balance, depth, and long ageing potential.

Rioja’s DOCa status reflects its heritage and quality. Its ageing system runs from Joven to Gran Reserva. Renowned wineries such as Bodega Olarra, Bodega Muga, Bodega Classica, and Bodega Altun highlight the region’s excellence.
