La Mancha
La Mancha, south of Madrid, is the largest wine region in Spain and one of the biggest in the world. Its vast plateau, hot summers, and cool nights suit Tempranillo (Cencibel), while Airén remains the main white grape. Garnacha, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon are also widely grown.
La Mancha produces affordable, diverse wines increasingly recognised for quality. Bodega Volver is a standout, reflecting the region’s mix of tradition and modern winemaking.
